After a personal career programme (PCP) some people need no further learning or guidance. Others may need up to a year of support. Everyone goes at a different pace and has different learning and personal development requirements. Some of these may need to be addressed before a career plan can truly come together. At times too - life events or work pressures can thwart initial good intention to do regular career planning and as a result momentum is lost. Below are some ways in which momentum can be maintained or reinvigorated and some further specific careers work can be done to keep things on track.
It is up to you which you choose and what you choose to use it for so a good agenda or broad clear goal ( for the repeat CRP) is required before starting any of these options ( they are only available after a PCP has been completed within the previous 12 months). If you are not sure which option would be best for you - we can give you a call to establish the right way forwards. We also find that in some circumstances the "repeat" options below can be funded by study leave or other sources. |
One piece of the jigsaw missing and the motion of an otherwise great career plan can falter |
Repeat Personal Career Programme £970Five hours minimum face to face meeting
One hour of phone follow up Maximum of two document edits post meeting Three months of weekly email follow up ( the latter alone would be £360) Lunch When would you choose a repeat PCP?
Career planning through a repeat PCP is often much better value than the MiniPCP. If there is a need for varied self marketing material to be worked upon in detail combined with further and ongoing strategic career planning then the repeat PCP is more suitable. Follow up discussion :phonecalls £160/hour 1:1 £170/hourFollow up phonecalls can be used for a number of purposes
Interview practice/dummy interview Discussion of jobs or job search strategy CV or application issues Please note that what can be achieved on a phonecall and by email is quite different to that achieved face to face ( latter being far more effective in general) |
Mini PCP £600Four hours of face to face meeting.
If we do not use all of the time - any remainder may be taken as phone follow up or document editing. When would you choose a MiniPCP follow up?
This is ideal when there is a specific challenge like a particular post that needs to be targetted well . We suggest that half the time is used for working on documents such as CV or application form ( along with sample or real job/person spec) and half used on interview discussion and preparation. Repeat Career Review £500If a year has gone by since your last programme and there is a need to maintain momentum or receive some feedback on how things are going but difficulty in attending in person due to location (or other reason) yet no need for in depth strategy or decision discussions - then the repeat CRP is ideal.
It can also be very timely just prior to an appraisal to ensure the absolute best is achieved during that. |
