Career guidance for doctors and dentists

Booking your Personal Career Programme

Now you have completed a Career Review you may decide at or after the  follow up call - that proceeding to a face to face Personal Career Programme is the ideal next step. If we are also agreed - you can book in on this page. The total cost of a PCP is £1200.

Date:  we only keep the date for 48 hours after letting you know availability (unless otherwise agreed). So - the next step is to formally book and confirm your appointment by sending us a deposit of £250 (non returnable if cancellation within 7 working days of the meeting).

Starting time is usually 9 am or 12 mid day  but we can be flexible for train times or longer journeys.

Please note that joining a face to face PCP can only be done after satisfactory completion of a Career Review and occasionally we may recommend another course of action other than a PCP.

What is included

  • Preparation time for your career guide prior to the meeting
  • The five or so hours spent together
  • Refreshments (teas/coffees , light lunch)
  • Editing of a new CV (or other document) if needed after the meeting (within one month)
  • A follow up phone call (one hour) within three months of our meeting ( date usually decided at the meeting). This is to ensure momentum is maintained and to discuss any barriers to further progress on career planning
  • Email correspondence for three months with regard to career planning issues ( one email and reply per week to be taken as one per week)

Further follow up

Not everyone needs this. Follow up other than that outlined above is at additional cost and could be
  • A repeat Career Review a year later
  • Coaching programme (4 hours per month) £550
  • A single one hour phone consultation £150
Things to remember for your visit

  • Agenda - we ask you for a provisional agenda (we have plenty of ideas - but it is part of the empowerment process for you to contribute actively)
  • Have handy - a CV (old one ok), your workbook if you have it in hard copy, the Review Summary,  pen & paper
  • The balance of the PCP fee is due on the day and is £950 (cash or by bank transfer prior to the meeting in which case we provide bank details)
  • We ask everyone if they would like to bring something (or a photo of it if it is too big like a garden!!) they are particularly proud to show. This has , in the past, included - a thesis, a sampler, some jewellery, a scrap book, a kit car and more.
  • The length of the PCP meeting is up to five hours (but it is a good idea not to have  anything scheduled so you can spend the return journey in relaxed reflection rather than feeling pressured time wise ).
  • If you have any dietary requirements do let us know or feel free to bring along some items
  • Dress code: as relaxed as you would like. Formality not required. It is more important that you are comfortable
  • We ask that mobile phones are turned off during the meeting. Need to check calls? Please do so at a break.

Please note - all Personal Career Programmes are now conducted remotely using Zoom.
