ConsultancySince 1990 Medical Forum has been contributing innovation to career guidance - developing new facilities and services to meet the explicit needs of professional people with career concerns. Growth has been organic with a focus on holistic approaches and empowerment of the individual to take full responsibility for their career.

We are passionate about the theory, application and implementation of career support for professional people. And, we have an interesting developmental history of our own - having been in operation for 20 years.

Over decades we have gained unique expertise and forged effective perspectives on a wide range of medical (and non medical) career conundrums, crises and challenges. We enjoy being challenged by both routine and complex career situations - with individuals or for organisations.

FAST TRACK
Access Career GuidanceSeeking career guidance and then putting the plans into action takes weeks or months. If you find yourself feeling in urgent need of career guidance then it is probably not career guidance you need.

In practice there is no such thing as instant or "fast" career guidance. More haste less speed is a term that applies well to career planning. Career guidance is more of a detailed and steady process of...

  • information gathering
  • learning more about self and what you want
  • analysis of this information
  • airing and discussion of issues such as work-life balance
  • pulling together of motivating and realistic action plans
  • self marketing material
  • implementation of the plan
The fastest approach we offer is the Career Review . This is designed to provide a steady, structured yet clear starting point for all manner of productive career discussions. With both you and us learning more about your career (in far more depth than a CV would offer and with both of us well prepared) any career discussion is increased in its effectiveness many fold. The Review takes a couple of weeks to complete and we strongly recommend taking this approach as it ensures we are well informed about you before offering support on ways forwards. Join a Career Review here.

Career crisis management
verus career planningIf you feel you want to speed up access to career guidance (eg to hours or days rather than weeks) it may not be career guidance you need but "crisis management support" or career advice. Medical Forum provides only career guidance as a planned process that generally takes weeks and months before results are seen.

Gaining top quality career plans in the midst of a crisis is a tall order. Please note that short term careers advice and career crisis management support is offered only via prebooked telephone appointment and that this is notcareer guidance.
