It is a structured yet creative, modular and flexible programme where you can find a clear starting point for constructive career thinking
It comprises two main phases
1 The work you do
2 Personalised follow up
Possible outcomes include:
A You feel this has been enough to encourage your existing plans and need no more support from us
B You realise that there is a lot more discussion needed before any concrete plans can be made and join our Personal Career Programme
C You find it useful but both you and we realise that there is something else that has to transpire before career guidance or career planning can be tackled.
This has been developed by us over a 28 year period - having started out as a simple two page form . We quickly realised that we needed a lot more information about an individual before we could offer tailored and appropriate feedback.
The purpose of the workbook is many fold
The follow up
The follow up summary report is our view on your situation and what you have written in the workbook.
In theory there should not be anything in it that you don't already know because it is our perspective on what you have written. However at times there are elements that are a surprise or even a salient corroboration of something you have known for a while but have not been clear about. Occasionally there are revelations but that is not our primary aim. The main aim of our work on the workbook is to gain a really good grasp of where you are right now. how you got there and the beginning glimpses of where you might like to go or why you may not be getting there. Our summary reflects back to you information about you in a different format thus encouraging either lightbulb moments or gradual enlightenment and insight. The summary also provides information for the follow up call agenda ( which we encourage you to make) as the other main aim of the summary and the call is to establish if we are on the same page and agreed about the key issues needing to be discussed and those needing further work.
