Who joins CGE toolkit?

Organisations can obain an annual membership and "license" which permits unlimited download or reproduction of a range of materials with the "Career Guidance Essentials Toolkit".

The following types of organisations may wish to join

  • deaneries
  • postgraduate centres
  • Trusts
  • SHAs
  • WDCs
  • medical schools
  • medical organisations
  • locum agencies

......... in other words any organisation involved in managing, recruiting, retaining, training or monitoring doctors.

License Membership enables the provision of additional careers guidance facilities or tools  to those already on offer to doctors - the focus in the toolkit being about training individuals how to improve the way in which they give or seek career guidance (or career planning support as we prefer to call it) so that career planning skills improve at all levels of medicine.

The toolkit facilitates

  • fast training of key personnel responsible for the spearheading of career guidance (clinical tutors, F1.F2 leads, programme directors)
  • roll on training to all consultants involved in junior training (so that career guidance opportunities within the normal working day are not lost)
  • training to juniors (as well as those providing guidance) so that they are well prepared prior to any face to face discussion (or so that a face to face discussion that is challenging can end with a recommendation and goal of completing the"personal" version of the workbook
  • a low cost way to disseminate basic but key career planning support to a wide audience - both providers and seekers (the cost of sending three consultants on a one day training course - when factored in with the cost of their day's leave will provide a whole Trust hospital with materials and support for those materials for one year)

Pricing

The cost of organisation membership varies according to the package required and the size of the organisation but can be as little as £700 per annum (with first year discount of 30%)  per Trust when for example a deanery takes out a license for all the Trusts/locations in their region.  Single Trust licences start at £1000 per annum.

To enquire about obtaining a license please use the enquiry form below and we can provide you with a sample lesson from the CGE training material.
