Our mission

Medical Forum holds three main goals in its mission.....

  • To ensure medical professionals have happy and fulfilling careers as clinicians and where new challenges are desired - to help them diversify their route whilst utilising the many transferable skills gained in clinical work
  • To provide the career tools, methods, guidelines and tips people need to effectively define, explore, plan and implement a successful career on their own terms and values.
  • To share the knowledge gained since our inception in 1990 and educate the professions on the principles of career support (career guidance) so that quality career support is easily accessible at all levels - from student through to retirement.

Our aim

.....is to provide a resource for doctors wishing to learn more about all the important factors that contribute to a person developing a happy, well balanced and successful (according to the criteria of the individual) career - whether they are seeking or providing career guidance. We do this by applying basic career guidance principles, developing career planning tools and spearheading change in attitudes to medical careers.

Increasing the number of people satisfied in their work (not just doctors) can contribute to reducing stress and ill health in the population as well as maximising human potential for the good of humanity. So career support is of value to everyone.

Motto

Your career is our career

By this we mean that our whole existence relates to the needs you have in developing your career. We can't be everything to everyone in career terms. But we can have a jolly good try!
