FAQ
How long will my Career Review take?
It is certainly not a good idea to rush it. Consideration and reflection is a prime requirement for completing the Career Review Workbook However - that said - after purchasing a Review the items you need are emailed to you often within a few hours You can print out the workbook that day (assuming your printer works) or request a special beta testing digital version to complete on your PC And then fill it in - usually within six hours (although some people choose to take longer doing a bit each day over two weeks) If you return it to us digitally - and we have space to process it (worth checking if you are wanting a speedy response as we can take up to 14 days to process a workbook at certain times) - then in theory the whole process could take two to three days. In practice we usually receive the workbook back a week or two after it is received by pdf email and we process it a week or two after that. It is possible to "fast -track" to a specific "booked in processing" of the workbook where we offer turnaround within 48 hours - but please check this is available at the time of booking the Career Review as it is not always possible.
How quickly can i get the feedback?
This is partly dependent on how quickly you return the workbook to us - and we don't recommend that you rush it as this means we receive a "rushed" workbook with lots of areas where a "bit more effort" would make our input so much more effective. If you are concerned about the time frame for feedback - have a read of our fast-track page.
How confidential is it?
Totally Even if a deanery or Trust are funding your visit - we make it clear to them that they will not receive any "report" from us - unless that is - you and we decide that writing one together is a good idea - in which case what they receive will be a joint effort between us. Career guidance HAS to be for the individual and not for anyone else.
What will it achieve? Clarity with regard to your overall approach to your career Identification of career management skills that need more attention or learning Underlining of inconsistencies or unrealistic expectations from career A provisional shortlist (this may be of clinical, non clinical, study options, business ideas, career planning skills to improve - depending on your main reasons for getting in touch) The beginnings of a more focused career vision and motivational career goals A fantastic preparation should we both decide it is appropriate for you to join a Personal Career Programme An empowerment to take further action and to be realistic yet with a swirl of optimism and courage
