What others have said about our workshops

Stuck. Stuck in a career rut. Stuck in completing the Career Review workbook. Feeling as though I was the only doctor having 'problems' with my career and just not knowing how to start planning it. That was how I felt  before the Career Planning Workshop.  It is a fantastic way to share and reflect on your career experience with other doctors from different backgrounds.

I found it a really interesting session. It was particularly good to hear other peoples stories which as we agreed were all very different yet there were also a lot of similarities in our circumstances.  It complimented the workbook which I had already started - in terms of brainstorming thoughts and stimulating me to give more time and thought to my career.

The personality bit of the talk was very useful, as it helped me recognise that I really do seem to fit into a certain type and that it would probably help to work on areas that I may neglect.

It was nice to have a personal contact in a small group setting as up to now the career workbook had been self directed with the feedback via email.  I would definitely recommend the workshop for those considering or on a career review.

Seeing the common patterns and emotions during our careers was quite reassuring and heartening. The friendly small-group format was ideal for this.

Identifying the factors that are important to me in making career decisions, then discussing them openly, really focused my mind on my inner wishes and fears.

I feel I have broken the dreaded cycle of procrastination. Plus the lunch was pretty good too. I really enjoyed the morning and drove back home feeling quite enthused and 'buzzy'.
